Anika is a lifelong animal lover with a background in customer experience and brand strategy. After over a decade working with top consumer brands, she combined her passion for pets with her professional skills to co-create TailMates. As a pet parent to two rescued Indies, she understands the real challenges and joys of pet care. Anika leads the charge on building delightful, seamless services that make life easier for pet parents across India.
A proud pet parent to two Indies, Maya and Coco, both adopted off the streets, Anika's own challenges in accessing reliable, holistic pet care sparked the idea for TailMates. She realized that while urban pet ownership was growing rapidly, the ecosystem to support it — especially in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities — was fragmented and unorganized.
At TailMates, Anika leads product innovation, customer experience, and community engagement. Her goal is to make pet care not just convenient, but joyful. She’s focused on designing intuitive service flows, building a compassionate service culture, and ensuring that every interaction — whether with a groomer, walker, or vet — feels trustworthy and seamless for both pets and their humans.
Anika also champions TailMates’ commitment to ethical practices, pet welfare, and local employment — ensuring that the company grows with purpose.
When she’s not fine-tuning app features or hosting pet parenting workshops, you’ll find her at a dog park, testing out TailMates’ new treats with Maya and Coco, or speaking at forums on women-led startups and conscious entrepreneurship
